How the night unfolds

Five acts. That's the whole game — played out by the same characters you'll be dealt.

    Act 1

When night falls, the Mafia light up

The room goes dark and the Mafia wake. They see each other, whisper in their own channel, and agree on one victim — while everyone else sleeps.

Night lasts 35 seconds. The Mafia submit one shared kill.

  2. Illustration: a villager holding up a glowing lantern.

    Act 2

    By dawn, someone is gone

The town wakes to a grave. Who they were stays secret — the dead keep their role hidden, and the killers blend back into the crowd.

Deaths are public at dawn, but roles stay hidden until the game ends.

  3. Illustration: a village doctor raising a glowing healing vial.

    Doctor

    Act 3

    Unless the Doctor guessed right

Each night the Doctor quietly treats one player. If the Mafia came for them, the attack fails — and nobody is told, not even the Doctor.

One protection blocks every attack that night. A quiet dawn keeps its secret.

  4. Illustration: a detective peering through a brass magnifying glass.

    Detective

    Act 4

    The Detective gathers the truth

One investigation a night: Mafia, or Not Mafia. The result is for the Detective's eyes only — and the Godfather always reads clean.

Investigation results are private, and arrive the moment you choose.

  5. Illustration: a grinning jester bowing with a noose held like a prize.

    Act 5

    By day, the town votes

Talk, accuse, defend. Vote a name — or SKIP if you'd rather wait. A majority sends someone to their last defense. And mind the Jester: getting voted out is exactly what they want.

Each town gets a small budget of skips. When it runs out, a plurality decides.

Every character in the game, and when the dealer lets them into your lobby.
